Stand-up Paddle Board Rentals & Lessons

What’s SUP?

SUP stands for stand up paddle board. Stand up paddle surfboards are much longer, wider and more buoyant than typical surfboards, enabling you to comfortably balance on them and propel yourself with the paddle.

The fastest growing water sport in the world, stand up paddle boarding came from roots that date back over thousands of years ago to ancient Hawaiian, Peruvian, and African culture.

Modern stand up paddle surfing has its origin from Hawaiian surfers. In the 1940s, surf instructors would take paddles and stand on their boards to get a better view of the surfers in the water and incoming swells, and from time to time they would surf the waves in themselves using the paddle to steer the board.

In 2004 SUP first touched down on U.S. shores. It’s now overtaking nearly every body of water in the world.
